John "Jay" Barszcz's Obituary
John "Jay" Barszcz, 61, of Clifton, passed away on April 6, 2018 after a long battle with cancer. Born in Passaic, he was a lifelong resident of Clifton, and was a graduate of Clifton High School.
A parishioner of St. Andrew the Apostle RC Church, Clifton, Jay was a Mail Carrier for the US Postal Service in West New York for 25 years.
Beloved husband for 29 years of Lynn (Geiger). Devoted father of Jennifer Barszcz of Clifton. Loving son of the late Stanley and Frances (Synovitz) Barszcz. Dear brother of the late Terry. Cherished uncle of Matthew, Marissa and Marco. Dear son in law of Hilda Geiger of Brick. Dear brother in law of Carol Geiger of Brick, and Susan DeVita and her husband Michael of Wall Twsp.
Funeral Wednesday 10 AM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton, and 11 AM at St. Andrew the Apostle RC Church, Clifton. Cremation will be private. Visiting Tuesday 5-8 PM at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, America Gift Processing, 4742 North 24th Street, Suite 400, Phoenix, AZ 85016, www.wish.org , in memory of Jay, would be greatly appreciated.
