Joanna Bednarz , 91 of Clifton, passed away on August 19, 2020. Born in Poland, she came to the US in 1960 and lived in Wood-Ridge and Wallington, before moving to Clifton many years ago. Joanna, a homemaker, was a parishioner of St. John Kanty RC Church, Clifton.

Joanna enjoyed having her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren around, and entertaining with her homemade Polish food, plus some to go.  She will be remembered for her Babci Cookies for the holidays, her homemade Pierogi and never missing a photo opportunity.

Beloved wife of nearly 70 years of Adam. Devoted mother of Ed Bednarz (Sophie) of  San Antonio, TX, Chet Bednarz (Mary) of Upper Saddle River, John Bednarz (Stacy) of Oakland, Ted Bednarz (Alice) of West Milford, and Joanne Bednarz-Szewc of San Antonio, TX. Loving grandmother of  Erik (Emily), Chris (Jesse), Renee (Jared), Michelle (Martin), Adam, Greg, Monika (Lee), Jason (Lexi), Katherine (Nick), Victoria, and Dominik. Cherished great grandmother of  Noah, Nathan, Elise, Milana, Isabelle, Olivia, Martin Joseph, Vivenne, Brooke, Ryan, and Lucas.  Dear sister of Zofia Majdanska of Passaic, her sole surviving sibling.

Funeral Tuesday 9 AM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton, and 10 AM at St. John Kanty RC Church, Clifton. Interment, East Ridgelawn Cemetery, Clifton. Visiting Monday 4-8 PM at the funeral home.
