Joan W. Umhoefer, 90, of Clifton, passed away on January 27, 2022. Born in Paterson she was a lifelong resident of Clifton.

A parishioner of St. Philip the Apostle RC Church, Clifton, Joan worked in the Clifton City Clerk's Office for 15 years, retiring in 2009. A member of the Albion VFW Post #7165, Ladies Auxiliary, Clifton, Joan served as Auxiliary President for many years.

Beloved wife of the late William J. Umhoefer, Jr., who passed away in 2009. Devoted mother of Michele Sanicki and her husband Raymond of Clifton, Gretchen Handoga and her husband Peter of Clifton, Allene Pitak of Clifton, and her late husband Joseph, and the late William J. Umhoefer, III, and his late wife Susan. Loving grandmother of Jennifer Lynn, Raymond, Jr., William J., IV, Rachel, Kyle Ryan, Devyn and Michele. Cherished great grandmother of Sawyer, Shane, Isabella and Evelyn.

Cremation was private under the direction of the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton.
