Joan C. Dittrich-Griffith, 99 years old, of Bloomfield, passed away on September 5, 2023.

Born in Garfield, on September 23, 1923, she was a first generation Polish-American. Joan later moved to Passaic and lived the last years of her life in Bloomfield. An avid puzzle and Scrabble fan, Joan also enjoyed sewing and crocheting. She was active in her parish, St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Bloomfield, and with her husband, Charles Dittrich, was one of the original contributors to the new church building. She was the rock of the family, a solid foundation of unconditional love for us all. "I love you more", Joan.

Dearly loved daughter of the late Andrew and Clara Pietranski. Beloved wife of the late Charles F. Dittrich, and the late Charles Griffith. Beloved mother of Dianne Harper and her husband Dr. Paul Harper, and the late Gloria Melillo, and her husband Dennis Melillo.
Cherished grandmother to Tracey and her husband Kevin, Taryn and her husband Gus, the late Dennis Jr., Erin, Kate and her husband Mike, Bill and his wife Heather, and Paul and his wife Stacey. Loving great-grandmother to Molly, Ryan, Clara, Willa, Iris, Meghan, Ethan, Cody, and Miles. Dear sister of Ted, Cassie, Lee, Ed, and Bill. Beloved Aunt to Patricia Russo and husband Gary.

Visiting Tuesday September 12, 2023, 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton. Funeral Tuesday 10 AM at St. Thomas the Apostle RC Church, Bloomfield. Interment, Tuesday 1 PM at the BGWCD Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown.
