Jean R. Zajac (nee: Kukowski), 92, died peacefully at home on Wednesday, May 13, 2015. She was born in Bayonne, NJ. She resided in the Township of Washington for 62 years. She worked for Newberry's, Nylock Corp., Laura Ashley and most recently for Pomptonian Food Service at Westwood High School as the cookie lady', from which she retired in 2004. Jean enjoyed crocheting, knitting, cooking, cruising, her shore home and especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her beloved husband Joseph A.(1995), her granddaughter, Dawn and her daughter-in-law, Helen and her siblings: Henry, Zygmunt, Joseph, Edward and Chester Kukowski and Mary Warsh, Irene Brutto, Helen Wierzbicki and Clara Burline. She is survived by her children: Joseph J., Thomas E. and his wife, Linda, Jean Susan Jakob and her husband, Richard, cherished sister of Dorothy and Florence Kukowski: also survived by 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Jean has been a long time parishioner of the Holy Cross PNC Church, Woodland Park, as a member of the Society for the Adoration of the Most Blessed Sacrament and the choir, where she sang soprano. Jean's family would like to sincerely thank her caregiver, Angela, her nurses, Hospice and all her physicians for all they have done. Funeral Saturday 8:15 AM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton, and 9:30 AM at Holy Cross PNC Church, Woodland Park. Interment, East Ridgelawn Cemetery, Clifton. Visiting Friday 4-8 PM at the funeral home.
