Janet (Kopec) Waksmundzki, 79 of Passaic passed away January 23, 2011. Born and raised in Garfield, she moved to Passaic after marriage.

A parishioner of St. Josephs RC Church, Passaic, Janet was a member of the Sons of Poland. She attended Felician College and studied to be a Religious and also sang in the choir.

Janet opened a Poultry Market on Wall St., Passaic, which she operated for many years before becoming a Secretary for Pope Pius High School and St. Josephs School for several years. Later Janet was also an Executive Secretary for Jefferson Bank in Passaic for 10 years before retiring in 1993.

Beloved wife for 61 years of Bronislaw. Devoted mother of Raymond of West Orange, Bronislaw P. and his wife Yon Suk of New Egypt, Janet Karpiak and her husband Basil, Jr. of Norwalk, CT, Gerard and his wife Susan and James and his wife Michelle, all of Passaic, Stacie Francisco and her husband Paul of Roseland, and the late Christopher. Dear sister of Sophie Wozny of Clifton. Loving grandmother of 6.

Funeral Saturday 8 AM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton, and 9 AM at St. Josephs Church. Interment, St. Michaels Cemetery, South Hackensack. Visiting Thursday 7-9 PM and Friday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. www.shookfh.com
