Jane Zayatz (nee Zaratkiewicz) died on August 28, 2014 at the age of 94. She was born and raised in Passaic where she lived until 2006 when she moved to Turnersville, NJ. She was the daughter of Frank and Caroline Zaratkiewicz (Mr. Zaratkiewicz having been the sexton at St. Joseph's Church in Passaic for 29 years) and the sister of the late Edward Darrat also of Passaic. Jane worked at the Falstrom Company of Passaic for several years and then worked as a Quality Control Coordinator for Government contract orders for thirteen years at the Hoffman La Roche Company in Nutley before retiring in 1980. She also volunteered her time teaching Polish immigrants English which she considered her most rewarding activity. She was a parishioner of St. John Kanty Church in Clifton, NJ. She was predeceased by her husband of 33 years Nicholas Zayatz, the former Business Manager of Laborers Local 509 of Ridgewood, NJ for 24 years. Jane is survived by her son, T. Nicholas Zayatz and his wife Kathy of Vernon, NJ, a daughter, Gina Glennon and her husband Patrick of Turnersville NJ, four grandchildren, Thaddeus Zayatz, Gerik Zayatz, Carolyn Glennon, and Steven Glennon, as well as a great granddaughter Lucy Glennon.
