Jan Szaflarski, 83, of Clifton passed away on May 27, 2011. Born in Dtuga, Poland, he came to the US in 1971 and lived in Garfield before moving to Clifton 35 years ago. A parishioner of St. John Kanty RC Church, Clifton, Jan was a Construction Worker for Isaac Hertz Homes in Dover for 15 years, retiring 20 years ago. Beloved husband for 56 years of Maria (Leja). Devoted father of Stanislaw and his wife Stanislawa, Jozef, Andrzej and his wife Anna, all of Clifton, and Dr. Zofia Tynski and her husband Maciej of Clarion, PA. Loving grandfather of Diane, Ewa, Renee and Isabella. Predeceased by 3 sisters and 4 brothers. Funeral Tuesday 9 AM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton, and 10 AM at St. John Kanty RC Church, Clifton. Interment, East Ridgelawn Cemetery, Clifton.
