James R. Purcell, 69, of Passaic passed away on January 12, 2013. Born in Montclair, James lived in Passaic for all of his life. James worked as a Police Officer for the City of Passaic for 41 years and 8 months, raising to the rank of Deputy Chief before retiring 4 years ago. A caring man, James devoted his life to his family and to the Passaic Police Department. Beloved husband of Aida Patria (Irizarry) for 32 years. Devoted father of Jeanette Greulich of Passaic, Todd Purcell of Garfield, Tricia Donoghue of Garfield, and Lisa Stansfield of Passaic. Loving grandfather of six.
