Obituary

Jackie (Gertler) Ritschel, 58, of Montville passed away on April 3, 2016 at home surrounded by her loving family. Born in New York City, Jackie was raised in West Orange, before moving to Montville 23 years ago. Jackie spent many years serving in the Montville school system and on the Montville Board of Education. She, and her husband, own Electronic Office Systems, Inc. in Fairfield. Many friends loved Jackie and enriched her life, and she will be missed.

Beloved wife for 27 years of Andrew. Devoted mother of Charles and Chelsea. Dear sister of Kenny Gertler and his wife Susie of Des Moines, IA. Loving aunt of many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Thursday 11:30 AM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton. Interment, East Ridgelawn Cemetery, Clifton. Visiting Wednesday 2-5 & 6-9 PM and Thursday 9:30-11:30 AM at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Ludwig Center for Metastasis Research at the University of Chicago Medical Center, Attn: Dr. Ralph Weichselbaum, 5758 South Maryland Ave., MC9006, Chicago, IL 60637, in Jackie's memory would be greatly appreciated.
