Jack Salmeri, 99, of Clifton, passed away on January 2, 2012. Born in Passaic, he lived most of his life in Passaic moving to Clifton a few years ago. A parishioner of St. Andrew the Apostle, Jack was a member of the St. Andrew 39er's and the Clifton Seniors Association. An Army Veteran of WW II, Jack was a member of the VFW, the Quentin Roosevelt American Legion Post #8, and the Athenia Veterans Post, all in Clifton. Jack worked for National Rubber in Clifton for many years and later was a Service Manager for Getty Machine in Clifton for 10 years, retiring 1974. Beloved husband of the late Lillian (Henry) who passed away in 1979. Devoted father of Daniel and his wife Connie of Richmond, VA, James and his wife Susan of Coral Springs, FL, Sharon Curley and her husband Kevin of Clifton, and the late Kevin who passed away in 1996. Loving grandfather of Jesse and his wife Amee, Rachel, Erica, Michael and Christopher. Dear brother of the late Lawrence. Loving companion of Irene Brower. Funeral Saturday 8:30 AM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton, and 9:30 AM at St. Andrew the Apostle RC Church, Clifton. Interment, Cedar Lawn Cemetery, Paterson. Visiting Friday 2-4 and 7-9 PM.
