Italo "Tal" N. Ubaldini, 87, of Passaic, passed away on May 28, 2017. Born in Perugia, Italy, he came to the US in 1931 and lived in Scranton, PA, and Carbondale, PA, before moving to Passaic many years ago.
A parishioner of St. John Kanty RC Church, Clifton, Tal served his country during the Korean War with the US Air Force, and was a member of the American Legion. Tal was a Detective Captain from the Passaic Police Department, when he retired in 1988 after 27 years of service and is a member of Passaic PBA, Local # 14.
Tal was a member of the Academy of Forensic Science and the Detective Crimes Clinic of NY & NJ. Tal served on the Passaic Board of Education and on the Board of the County of Municipal Utilities.
Beloved father of Daniel and his wife Michele of Passaic, and Barbara Liptak of Passaic. Loving grandfather of Daniel James, Richard, Kevin, Sara and Brittany. Cherished great grandfather of Ali. Dear brother of Nando Ubaldini of Olyphant, PA. Devoted friend of Judy Gentile, Valarie and Justin.
Funeral Friday 8:45 AM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton, and 10 AM at St. John Kanty RC Church, Clifton. Interment, St. Michael's Cemetery, South Hackensack. Visiting Thursday 4-8 PM at the funeral home.
