Irene Claire Brower, 93, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, March 20, 2022.

Daughter, sister, wife, mom, grandmother, great grandmother. Teacher, seamstress, quilter, knitter. Fan of fashion, sports, conversation, the shore and travel. Faithful to her Catholic beliefs. Life long learner. Generous of her time, talent and heart.

Irene was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Brower Sr., her companion Jack Salmeri, her parents, Irene and Marinus Hoogerhyde, Casper Hopper and her brother, William Hopper.

Irene will be missed by her children and their spouses, Barbara and Richard Hagen, Joe and Chris Brower, Beth and Rudy Betancourt, John and Nancy Brower, her grandchildren Paul and Justin, Beth and Jacquan, Joseph and Andrea, Jacqueline, Christopher, Katelyn, Michael, Katie and Thomas, JD and Christina, Jason and Jaclyn, Andrew and Kristen and her great grandchildren Julianna and Benjamin, Joseph, Ava and Victoria, Willa and Arthur, Johnny and a baby girl arriving in April. We love you Grammie.

Visiting Wednesday 3-7PM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton. Funeral Thursday 9AM at the funeral home and 10AM at St. Andrew the Apostle RC Church, Clifton. Interment, Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Montclair.
