Irene M. Barnas, 98, of Wallington passed away on June 2, 2026. Born and raised in Passaic, she has been a resident of Wallington since 1948 where she was affectionately known as “The Pink Lady of Wallington”. Irene was a member of the Senior Citizens Club of Wallington, AARP and The Red Hat Society.

Beloved wife of the late Anthony J. Barnas who passed away in 2004. Devoted mother of Glenn A. Barnas and his wife Susan of Toms River, and Gayle I. McKenna and her husband Neil of Elmwood Park. Cherished grandmother of Jeffrey Barnas, Lauren Barnas, Sarah Diana McKenna, and Andrew Charles McKenna. Dear sister of the late Joseph Soos, Elsie Szucs, Florence Rinkerman, Richard Soos, and Dolores Bodnar.

Visiting will be held on Thursday, June 4, 2026 from 3-8PM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton. Funeral Friday, 8:15AM at the funeral home and 9:30AM at St. Joseph’s RC Church, East Rutherford. Entombment to follow at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus.
