Howard Frank Smith, 77, of Bloomfield, passed away on February 6, 2026. Born in Redhill, Surrey, England, he came to the US in 1973 and lived in Yonkers, Manhattan, Miami, and Atlanta, before settling in Bloomfield. Before retiring, Howard was a Computer Programmer for MetLife Insurance Co. An avid sports fan, Howard enjoyed the New York Mets, the New York Jets, and the English Football League. Music was his first love, Howard loved to sail and was a master at Jigsaw Puzzles.

Beloved husband of Shelley Harris. Dear brother of Jenny Barry, Adrian Smith and Robin Smith.

Cremation was private under the direction of the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton.
