Herman J. Kopitar, 82, of Clifton passed away on April 12, 2011. Born in Passaic, he lived there before moving to Clifton in 1986.

A parishioner of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel RC Church, Passaic, Herman was a member of the Leisure Club and the Secular Franciscans. A Navy Veteran during Peacetime, Herman was a Senior Maintenance Repairman for the Passaic Housing Authority for many years, retiring in 1990.

Beloved husband of the late Eleanor (Sautner) who died in 1988. Devoted father of Joseph of CT, Thomas of Clifton, Gerard of Milford, PA, John of Hawthorne, and Sister Mary Dominic, S.C.C, Mendham. Loving grandfather of 5 grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Dear brother of Veronica Debiak and Theresa Nikitsher, both of Clifton.

Funeral Saturday 8:30 AM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton, and 9:30 AM at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel RC Church. Interment, St. Mary's Cemetery, Saddle Brook. Visiting Friday 4-8 PM.
