H. Robert Koch of Woodland Park, passed away peacefully on March 18, 2023. Born in Jersey City, New Jersey, on April 13, 1940, to the late Hugo and Dorit Koch of Clifton. Bob grew up in Clifton where he attended Clifton High School. He went on to attend Fairleigh Dickinson University where he received a B.S. in Chemistry. He went to the Coast Guard Officer's Training School in Virginia during the Vietnam War and after graduation was assigned to teach at the Coast Guard Academy in New London, CT. While teaching at the Academy, he pursued an advanced degree and received a M.S. in Chemistry from Connecticut College.

Bob worked as a chemist for Hoffman LaRoche in Nutley for many years and then went onto pursue another opportunity at Barr Laboratories. Bob enjoyed playing golf, spending time in Florida, traveling with his longtime girlfriend Barbara, as well as taking drives down to the Jersey shore. He was happiest spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Bob is survived by his children, Tracie (Scott), Jennifer (Joe) and Robert (Kristina) as well as his four grandchildren: Gemma, Noah, Jacob, and Elijah. He also leaves behind a brother, Thomas, sister-in-law Kay, nieces and a nephew.

Bob is predeceased by his parents and brother Ronald. The family would like to thank all the staff at the St. Joseph's Hospital Intensive Care Unit as well as his caregiver's Bayani (Prinz) and Janice for their care and support of Bob.

Visiting Saturday 2- 5 at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton, with prayer service beginning at 4:30 PM at the funeral home. Military Honors will be held immediately after the prayer service.
