Grace Bator Tlusty, 50, of Clifton, died August 22, 2017, at home surrounded by family and friends after a 5 and a half year heroic battle with ovarian cancer.

Grace was nicknamed "AMAZING GRACE" after conquering her first diagnosis in 2012 going into remission for 2 and a half years. During her first and second recurrences Grace was the strongest, courageous, and most optimistic of us all. She would always say, "I am an ocean and no one will ever knock me down."  Although she fought until her last breath, God had another plan for Grace.

Grace Maria Bator was born to Konstanty and Maria Bator on February 1, 1967 in Brooklyn, NY. Born the second child of two loving parents, she coined herself not only the favorite child, but the prettiest child also. The family resided in Brooklyn until Grace was 14, then relocated to Clifton, NJ.

Grace attended St. Aloysius Elementary School in Ridgewood, Queens and later graduated Clifton High School in 1985.

In 1991 Grace married her childhood heartthrob Butch Emil Tlusty. The two were blessed with two beautiful loving daughters Rachel, and Jordan.

Grace was adored and loved by everyone who knew her. Her love of life showed in her adoration of Peanuts and Snoopy. One of her favorite songs was the "Red Baron". You could always find Grace bustin' a move on the dance floor to another favorite song "Low" by Flo Rida. Two of her favorite TV shows were the Bachelor, and Dancing With the Stars, she never missed an episode.

In her spare time Grace loved to bake all sorts of cookies and cakes which was very much appreciated by all. She especially enjoyed shopping with her daughters and was an avid collector of thimbles, a hobby inherited from her Mom. Grace had an amazing love for animals all her life and never hesitated to bring home a stray. You would always find her pets names on every card she sent.

Funeral Saturday 8:45 AM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton, and 10 AM at St. John Kanty RC Church. Cremation will be private. Visiting Friday 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the funeral home.
