With a heavy heart, the Lulla family announces the death of their beloved father and devoted grandfather, Mr. Gopal Lulla. Gopal passed away peacefully at the age of 85, surrounded by family on Saturday, January 7, 2023, at Hackensack Meridian Hospital in Westwood, NJ. He led a full life and was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and brother with great adoration for his family.

Born in India, Gopal Lulla came from a large family of 5 brothers and 5 sisters. He moved at the age of 32 with his wife, Hur Lulla, to the United States for new beginnings. Gopal settled in Little Falls, NJ working as a chemical engineer with a side passion for pitching stocks to anyone who would listen. During retirement, when he wasn't watching CNBC, Gopal loved to travel the world with his wife as he admired nature and different cultures.  Gopal enjoyed long evening walks, making friends with everyone he encountered. Often he would take his furry grandchildren, Sadie and Jacklyn, with him during his evening strolls. Gopal was a passionate member of the Sadhu Vaswani congregation that believed profoundly in the principle of happiness and making others happy. He was a living embodiment of this concept. His generous spirit has touched many people and has had a positive impact on the lives of not only family and friends, but also complete strangers.

Gopal's legacy is survived by his wife, Hur, sisters, Chander, and Maya, children, Vikram, and Anit with his wife Susan, six grandchildren, Neo, Shea, Samantha, Nicholas, Jake, and Alex, and his Masi who is now 97 years of age!

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, January 12th, from 1-3PM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton. Cremation to follow at 3:30PM at East Ridgelawn Cemetery, 255 Main Avenue, Clifton.
