Gloria Jean Haughey, 74, of Hamburg passed away on July 28, 2025. Born in Englewood, she was a resident of New Jersey for her whole life raised by Michael and Blanche Triggiani. Gloria worked as a secretary and hairdresser and did these jobs well, because she loved people. Everyone who ever knew her would tell you that she was the kindest fun-loving person that they ever met. She would do anything not to hurt someone's feelings.
Gloria had four stages of her life, her childhood as the older protective sister of Nancy Illes. Her raising a family stage with her first love the late Richard J Sushko, Sr.. She told her mom the first time she laid eyes on him I'm going to marry him. She was the cool young mom that all of the family and friends loved. She always did all the holidays with all of the cooking. She was an amazing cook and loved to see
everyone enjoy her food. The next stage of life was the good time Charley stage with the late Charles M. Haughey, they went all over the country and were the life of the party, they also did a lot of hiking. The last stage of her life was with Donald P. Malloy, and this was the more settled down
stage. They really enjoyed their dogs together, taking them to the dog park was something they really enjoyed. They also liked to watch Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune together and would keep score who got the most questions right. They made a very special trip to Florida together and got to see her best friend, the late Sharon Manny. She loved her pets so much they will be mentioned here. Animals were a huge part of her life and she loved them as if they were human. She will be missed forever.
Devoted mother of Michele Lee Schaffer and Richard J. Sushko, Jr., and second daughter Alicia Hung Sushko. Loving grandmother of Michael J. Gore and his wife Alexis, Jessica P. and Olivia R. Schaffer, Richard J. III, and James P. Sushko. Cherished great-grandmother of Lyla R. Gore. Dear sister of Nancy Illes.
Gloria is also survived by nieces and nephews Denise DeSantos, Shannon Karanovich, Daniel Karanovich, Adam, Amy, Lee and Luke,
Sushko. In-Laws the late George and Barbara Sushko, the late George Sushko and his wife Carol, Robert Sushko and his wife Sherrie, the late Tristan Schaffer, and Evencio and Helen Hung. She will be sadly missed by her pets Tippy, Sweety, Spot, Felix, Luna, Crusher and Hero.
Funeral Arrangements were private under the direction of Shook Funeral Home, Inc., 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton.
In lieu of gifts or flowers, please help an animal any way you can, she loved them all.
