Gertrudis A. (Jorge) Duran, 94, of Clifton passed away on September 23, 2025. Born in La Vega, Dominican Republic, she traveled to the US in 1991 and settled in Clifton. She worked as a professor in the Dominican Republic for many years before retiring.

Beloved wife for 64 years of the late Nelson Duran who passed away in 2013. Devoted mother of Fernando Duran and his wife Milania, Nelson, Carlos, Jorge and Ana Duran and Gertrudis Garcia and her husband Jose. Loving grandmother of Maria Souffront, Fernando and Melissa Duran, Coral, Jazmin and Carlos Garcia. Cherished great-grandmother of Brimely Pena. Dear sister of Daisy Jorge, Noris Jorge and Jorge Jorge and the late Nelson Jorge.

Visiting on Saturday, September 27, from 4 – 8 PM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton. Cremation will be private.

Gertrudis A. (Jorge) Durán, de 94 años, residente de Clifton, falleció el 23 de septiembre de 2025. Nacida en La Vega, República Dominicana, viajó a Estados Unidos en 1991 y se estableció en Clifton. Trabajó como profesora en República Dominicana durante muchos años antes de jubilarse.

Esposa amada durante 64 años del difunto Nelson Durán, quien falleció en 2013. Madre devota de Fernando Durán y su esposa Milania, Nelson, Carlos, Jorge y Ana Durán, y de Gertrudis García y su esposo José. Abuela querida de María Souffront, Fernando y Melissa Durán, Coral, Jazmín y Carlos García. Querida hermana de Daisy Jorge, Noris Jorge y Jorge Jorge y el fallecido Nelson Jorge.

El velorio será el sábado, 27 de septiembre, de 4 a 8PM en la Funeraria Shook, ubicada en 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton. La cremación será privada.
