Gerardo "Jerry" Scotto D'Abbusco, passed away on November 29, 2024, at the age of 91. Born to Elvira and Antonio on March 1, 1933, in Monte di Procida, (Naples) Italy.
Beloved husband of Angelina (Di Colandrea) Scotto D'Abbusco for 49 years. Together, they built a close and loving family. He is survived by his three children, Elvira Turano, Anthony Scotto, and Assunta Scotto; his two sons-in-law, Peter Turano and Michael Colandrea; and five grandchildren, Antonio, Angela, Arianna, Pietro, and Aurora, who brought him endless pride and joy.
Jerry owned Scotto's Pizzeria in Clifton for 46 years, until his retirement in 2016. He welcomed everyone like family. It wasn't just a restaurant—it was a place where his love for cooking and community came together.
Gerardo proudly served in the Italian Navy and worked as a Merchant Marine before arriving in America through Ellis Island.
Jerry was predeceased by his parents, three brothers, and two sisters. He leaves behind his wife, two brothers, and a devoted family who will always treasure his kindness, strength, and humor. His greatest joy was bringing loved ones together, especially through his love of cooking.
Visiting Monday, December 2, 2024, 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Avenue, Clifton. Funeral Tuesday, December 3, 2024, 8:45 AM at the funeral home and 10 AM at St. John Kanty RC Church, 49 Speer Ave., Clifton. Entombment, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa.
Jerry's legacy of love and devotion will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
