George M. Whren, Jr.'s Obituary
George M. Whren, Jr., 83, of Passaic, passed away on June 11, 2017. Born in Passaic, he lived in Garfield before moving to Passaic 27 years ago.
A parishioner of St. Michael the Archangel Byzantine Catholic Cathedral, Passaic, George was a Machinist for Continental Can Co., Passaic for over 25 years, retiring in 1989. A US Army Veteran during Peacetime, George was a Life Member of the NRA, and a member of AARP.
Beloved husband of the late Edith (Sotzny) who passed away in 1990. Devoted father of George R. and his wife Colleen of Monroe, NY, and Richard of Passaic. Loving grandfather of Caitlin. Dear brother of William and his wife Rosemarie of Garfield, and the late Dolores Galek. Cherished uncle of Kathleen, Darlene and Michael.
Funeral Thursday 8:45 AM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton, and 10 AM at St. Michael's Cathedral, Passaic. Interment, St. Michael's Cemetery, South Hackensack. Visiting Wednesday 5-8 PM, at the funeral home, Parastas at 7:30 PM.
