Scerbak George J. 81 of Passaic on March 11, 2010. Born in Passaic George lived in Clifton before moving to Passaic 38 years ago. A member of St. John Kanty RC Church, Clifton, the Holy Name Society and an usher for the Saturday 5 PM mass. George was a stationary engineer for the Intl. Union of Operating Engineers, Local #68, for many years retiring several years ago. He will always be remembered for his passion for golf and playing his steel guitar. Devoted husband of the late Violet (Mamczar) who died in 1992. Beloved brother-in law of Josephine Malitsch. Loving uncle of Gloria Kolodziej of Clifton, Linda Gengaro and her husband Frank of Bloomfield, and Thomas and Matthew Scerbak. Cherished great uncle of 6 nieces and nephews and great great uncle of 5 nieces and nephews all living in the area. Dear brother of Julie Romanowski, Emily Resathe and the late Peter. Funeral Monday 9 AM at the Shook Funeral Home and 10 AM at St. John Kanty RC Church, Clifton. Interment St. Michael's Cemetery, So. Hackensack. Visiting Sunday 1-5 PM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the St. John Kanty Restoration Fund or the American Cancer Society.
