On Wednesday, December 2, 2020, George Gary Miller, loving husband and father of three children, passed away at age 76.

George was born on January 11, 1944 in Bronx, NY to George and Irene Miller.  He was raised in Weehawken, NJ and after attending Daniel Webster elementary school, Woodrow Wilson Junior High, and Weehawken High School, he served in the National Guard, 113th infantry, in Jersey City, NJ.  He started his own transmission auto repair shop, George's Automatic Transmission Specialist Incorporated, on Park Avenue, Union City. After years of servicing the community, George sold the business in 1985, and began a career in car sales that spanned nearly two decades.

On March 12, 1977, he married Carol Ann Vero.  They remained married for 43 years and raised one daughter, Carol Marie, and two sons, Stephen and Thomas.

George had a passion for playing, collecting, and restoring instruments that ranged from Clarinets, to Saxophones.  Known for his very calm and peaceful demeanor, he had a way of positively affecting all those who knew him.  He was a dedicated friend, with never a harsh word towards anyone.

George was preceded in death by his father George, his mother Irene, and stepmother Jeanne Colucci.

He is survived by his wife Carol Ann, his daughter Carol Marie and her husband Joseph DeCoro, his son Stephen and his husband Zac Ling, his son Thomas and his wife Kelli Miller, and five grandchildren, Austin, Julianna, Angelina, Gianna, and Isabella.

A Memorial Mass for George will be held at a later time. Arrangements under the direction of the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton.
