Obituary

Garry E. Ruis, almost 94, passed away on September 20, 2022. Born on October 3 1928 Garry lived most of his
life in Clifton, moving to Bayville, New Jersey, 3 years ago.

Garry proudly served in the United States Army post WWII as a tank driver with the 2nd Armored Division stationed in
Europe. He was employed by BASF Corporation as a chemical operator for 35 years, retiring in 1991.
Beloved husband of 57 years to Doris Ann (Dittrich) who passed away in 2010. Predeceased by loving son
Gregory (2022) and siblings Konrad. Katherine, William and Roman. Devoted father of Gail Ruis of Bayville, New Jersey.
Loving grandfather (Papa) of Matthew (fiancee Denisse) and Shauna Ruis and daughter-in-law Barbara all of Clifton.
Visiting Sunday 2-6 PM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave,. Clifton. Funeral Monday 11 AM at the
funeral home. Interment Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Upper Montclair.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Cancer Society or Wounded Soldiers in memory of Garry would be greatly appreciated.
