Gabriella Gazdag, 82, of Clifton, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 19th after a brief illness. Born on March 27th, 1943 in Deutsch Schuetzen, Burgenland, Austria to Paul and Mary Pehr, Gabriella emigrated to the U.S. in 1962.

In 1967, she settled to raise her family in Glendale, New York, before enjoying positions at JCPenney and the NYC Board of Education. She loved telling a good joke, drinking an occasional spritzer, watching The Today Show, known as "the show", discussing Days of Our Lives, also known as "the show", baking and having long, relaxed telephone conversations with loved ones in the U.S. and abroad. Gabriella's brownies and strudels were sought after by all, especially around the holidays, where she thrilled in providing family, friends and co-workers with finely baked treats. She also read widely in history and the biographies of the great movie stars.

Gabriella is pre-deceased by Jenoe, her beloved husband of 56 years, her brother Josef, and sister Maria. She leaves behind her children, Linda and Tom, son-in-law Russ; daughter-in-law Jane; grandchildren Johanna, Connor and Seamus, her nephew Robert, and many loving friends and relatives.

A private Celebration of Life will be forthcoming.

Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington, New Jersey.
