Frederick V. O'Brien "Fred", 54, of Clifton on January 25, 2010. Born in Paterson, Fred lived in Clifton for the past 10 years. A Veteran of several branches of the military, Fred served in the Navy as a Corpsman for the Marines, as well as the Army and later the NJ Army National Guard. Fred was a Postal Worker for the US Postal Service in Paterson for 12 years, and was a member of the Athenia Veterans Post, Clifton. Beloved brother of Edmund and his wife Barbara of Paterson, Amy of South Dakota, John of CT, and the late Josephine who died in 2005. Loving uncle of Brien, Dawn, Jessica, Judy, and Michele. Also survived by his endearing and loving partner Jen Giovanos, and his dearest lifetime friend Connie Herbert.

Funeral Monday 12 noon at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton. Interment, Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown. Visiting Sunday 2-6 PM.
