Fred Gmyrek, 84, of Garfield, passed away on September 24, 2014. Born in Clifton, he resided there most of his life before moving to Garfield. A parishioner of Ss. Peter and Paul Russian Orthodox Cathedral, Passaic, Fred was a member of the Federated Russian Orthodox Club. An Army Veteran of the Korean War, Fred was a member of the Athenia Veterans Post, Clifton. Fred worked for Sisco Dairy, Clifton, was a Baker for Enterprise Bakery on Van Houten Avenue, Clifton, and later was a Driver for UPS in Saddle Brook for 24 years, retiring in 1994. Devoted husband of the late Marie (Saks), who passed away in February. Beloved father of Mark of Garfield, Joanne Tibaldo and her husband Domenick of Nutley, David and his wife Janet of Middlefield, CT, and Glenn and his wife Robyn of Midland Park. Loving grandfather of 10. Funeral Monday 8:45 AM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton, and 10 AM at Ss. Peter and Paul RO Cathedral, Passaic. Interment, Ss. Peter and Paul RO Cemetery, Saddle Brook. Visiting Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the funeral home, with Parastas at 7:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations made to Ss.
