Obituary

Franklin R. Failla, 76, of Passaic, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on May 14, 2017.

Frank was a lifelong resident of Passaic and served in the US Navy from 1960 through 1964. He became a Police Officer in Passaic in 1965. He was promoted to Detective in 1968 and to Detective Sergeant in 1974. He resigned in 1976 to take a County Detective position with the Passaic County Prosecutor's Office. Franklin rose through the ranks at PCPO, being promoted to Lieutenant in 1979 and Captain in 1984. He reached the top of the ladder in 2001 when he was promoted to Chief of County Investigators. After 38 years in law enforcement Franklin retired in 2003. He was a member of NJ State PBA Local #265 and the Italian American Police Society of NJ. He was a parishioner of St Anthony's Church in Passaic.

Frank was the loving husband to his wife, Donna, for 50 years. He was the adored father of Elena Camp and her husband, Jeffrey, Toni, and Matthew and his wife, Lisa. He was the cherished g randfather to Taylor, Alexis and Ava Camp, and Francesca and Anthony Failla. Frank is also survived by many nieces and nephews, and was predeceased by his sister, Serena.

Visiting Wednesday 4-9 PM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton, Prayer Service at 8 PM. Cremation will be private.
