Florence A. (Sott) Nitch, 101, of Boca Raton, FL, formerly of Clifton, passed away on December 16, 2012. Born in Passaic, Florence lived in Rutherford where she raised her family before moving to Clifton 40 years ago. She was actively involved in her children's lives and served as a County Committee Representative in Rutherford. Florence also worked part-time as a bookkeeper for a men's clothing store while assisting her husband in managing a family business. Florence loved to travel, play bridge, read her daily newspaper and watch her favorite TV show, Jeopardy. She frequently discussed her political views and enjoyed following market prices on the NY Stock Exchange. However, Florence's greatest pleasure revolved around time spent with family. Beloved wife for 29 years of Zigmund S. Nitch, who passed away in 1977. Devoted mother of Douglas and his wife Linda of Wall Township and Gary and his wife Elizabeth "Beth" of Fort Myers, FL. Adored grandmother of Lauren Galok and her husband Brian, Amy O'Connor and her husband Brian, and Heather and Patrick Nitch. Cherished great grandmother of Leah Galok. Dear sister of Jane Sott of Boca Raton, FL (formerly of Clifton), Verna Fenelon of Palm City, FL, and the late Charlotte Ambrose and Emil Szot. Funeral Friday 9 AM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton, and 10 AM at St. Philip the Apostle Parish, Clifton. Interment, East Ridgelawn Cemetery, Clifton. Visiting Thursday 7-9 PM at the Funeral Home.
