Florence Elias, 89, of Parlin passed away on December 22, 2022. Born in Jersey City, she lived most of her life in North Bergen, before settling in Parlin. Florence was a skilled organist, she loved music and reading. Florence and her husband David loved to cook and travel together. She enjoyed singing and was part of the chorus at Cedar Crest where she lived prior to moving in with her daughter Judy.

Florence made friends wherever she went, she could always strike up a conversation and make everyone feel comfortable. She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend and will be greatly missed.

Beloved wife of the late David Elias. Devoted mother of Florence Ficker and her late husband Jack of Saddle Brook, Judy Spanton and her late husband John of Parlin, Ivy Engroff and her husband Serafin of Edison, John Engroff of Princeton, ME, and Ralph Engroff of Hamburg. Loving grandmother of Bree Manchanda, John Spanton, Rory Engroff, Danielle Ficker, Joshua Engroff, Butch (William) Ficker, Joshua Spanton and Aaron Engroff. Cherished great-grandmother of Aydan, Dylan, Emily, Jack, Grace, Jack, Ivar, Bane, Eirik, Lily, Autumn, Brody and Miles. Dear sister of Doris Leone, Beatrice Kaczorowski, Edward Thogode, and the late James, Walter, Adam, Joseph, Bill and Marie.

Visitation Wednesday 9–10 AM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton. Funeral Service 10 AM at the funeral home. Interment, Crest Haven Memorial Park, Clifton.
