Eugene J. Mauro, 93, of Nutley, passed away on October 11, 2015. Born in Newark, he lived in Nutley most of his life where he served on the Board of Adjustments for 4 years. An Army Veteran of WW II, Eugene participated in the landing at Normandy, was at the Battle of the Bulge, helped liberate concentration camps throughout Nazi Germany, and served under General Patton as a Tank Commander. Before retiring in 1987, Eugene was a Printer for Litton Industries in Belleville for over 30 years. Beloved husband of the late Mae (Sacchetti). Father of Wayne, Marc and Robin. Funeral Saturday 10 AM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton. Entombment, Glendale Cemetery, Bloomfield. Visiting Friday 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the funeral home.
