Eugene "Gene" Kolodziej, 78, of Clifton, passed away on March 22, 2012. Born in Wallington, he lived most of his life in Clifton. A parishioner of St. John Kanty RC Church, Clifton, Gene was an Army Veteran during Peacetime and was a member of the Athenia Veterans Post, Clifton. Gene, an entrepreneur, was the owner of several businesses including Gene's Shell Station in Fairfield, Caldwell Scale in Belleville, Ambassador Travel Agency on Van Houten Ave., Clifton, and Gene's Borderline Pub on Crooks Ave. in Clifton. Beloved father of Kenneth and his wife Terri of Dumont, Joanne Hoekstra and her husband Frank of Oak Ridge, Janine Kotocavage and her husband Tim of West Palm Beach, Richard and his wife Maribel of Bridgeport, CT, and Christine Metzger and her husband Peter of Hillsboro. Loving grandfather of Lindsey, Gregg, Katie, Nikolas, Kelly, Dominic, Karli, Emily, Isabella and Jack. Dear brother of the late Joseph who passed away in 1981. Funeral Monday 9 AM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton, and 10 AM at St. John Kanty RC Church, Clifton. Interment, St. Michael's Cemetery, South Hackensack.
