Estrella C. Tiu, 77, of Passaic passed away on August 6, 2018. Born in the Philippines, Estrella came to the US in 1968 and settled in Passaic.
A medical technologist, Estrella worked for St. Mary's General Hospital, Passaic, for 45 years before retiring in 2017. Estrella was a member of the Philippine Day Organizing Council and was very active in politics.

Devoted mother of Maria Tiu and her husband Adrian of New York, Rosalyn Yang and her husband Hubert of Nutley, and Anthony Tiu and his wife Jazmin of Nutley. Loving grandmother of Thomas, Julia, Jade, and Jude. Dear sister of Tarhata Santos of Walnut, California, Bayani Cristobal of Monroe Township, and Dina Kantrowitz of Clifton.
Funeral Friday 8:45 AM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton, and 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel RC Church, Passaic. Interment, East Ridgelawn Cemetery, Clifton. Visiting Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the funeral home.
