Emma Vella's Obituary
Emma (Di Iorio) Vella, 93, of Westbury, LI, passed away on May 28, 2016. Born in Italy, she came to the US in 1928 and lived in Paterson and Westchester before moving to Long Island.
A former parishioner of St. Brendan's RC Church, Clifton, Emma was a seamstress for Brooks Brothers, Paterson for many years, retiring in 1985, and was a member of the Italian-American Association, Mt. Kisco, NY.
Beloved wife of the late Frank Vella who passed away in 1987. Devoted mother of Frank Vella, Jr., and his wife Melinda of New Castle, WA. Loving grandmother of Christopher Robert Vella and his wife Gina, and Deborah Cosgrove and her husband Chip. Cherished great grandmother of Christopher, Jr., Nicholas, Charlotte and William. Dear sister of Joyce Englese of Toms River.
Funeral Friday 10:45 AM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton, and 12 Noon at St. Brendan's RC Church, Clifton. Entombment, Calvary Cemetery, Paterson. Visiting Thursday 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
