Emily Penkalski, 99, of Toms River, formerly of Clifton, passed away on June 14, 2021. Born in Passaic, she lived most of her life in Clifton, before moving to Toms River 3 years ago.

A parishioner of Sacred Heart RC Church, Clifton, Emily was an owner of Johnny's Bar & Grill on the corner of Ackerman and Parker Avenues in the Botany Section of Clifton for 65 years, retiring in 2018.

Beloved wife of the late John Penkalski who passed away in 1993. Devoted mother of John Penkalski of Toms River. Loving grandmother of Marisa Renda of Pompton Lakes, Kaitlyn and Krista Penkalski of Wayne. Cherished great grandmother of Julia Renda.

Funeral Friday 8:45 AM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton, and 10 AM at Sacred Heart RC Church, Clifton. Interment, St. Mary's Cemetery, Saddle Brook. Visiting Thursday 4-8 PM at the funeral home.
