Elzbieta (Cienkowski) Szczech, 81 of Passaic, passed away on November 4, 2012. Born in Dabrowka, Poland, she came to the US in 1959 and settled in Clifton and later in Passaic. A parishioner of St. John Kanty RC Church, Clifton, Elzbieta, was a Seamstress for April Colby in Passaic for 17 years, and later worked for SmithKline Beecham in Clifton for many years, retiring in 2005. Elzbieta enjoyed gardening, word search puzzles and the company of family and friends. Beloved wife of the late Tadeusz who passed away in 2001. Beloved mother of Irene Szczech of Passaic, and Taduesz, Jr. and his wife Denise of Hamden, CT. Loving grandmother of Julia, Stephanie, Matthew and Erika. Dear sister of Halina Majkowski of Clifton, Janina Ciszkowski of Poland, and the late Alfreda Bobowska. She is also survived by many loving cousins, nieces, nephews, and her caregiver Teresa Krupa. Funeral Saturday 9 AM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton, and 10 AM at St. John Kanty RC Church, Clifton. Interment, East Ridgelawn Cemetery, Clifton. Visiting Friday 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the funeral home.
