Elmer J. Lucas, 88, of Clifton, on May 29, 2010. Born in Clifton, Elmer lived in Passaic and Clifton all of his life.

A US Marine Corps Veteran of WW II, Elmer served aboard several ships including the USS Tattnall, the USS Charleston, the USS Erie, and participated in action against the enemy aboard the USS Brooklyn. A member of the American Legion Clifton Memorial Post # 347 and part of the E.E. Hausler Detachment, Elmer was a Golden Glove Boxer as well as a Bugler in the Marines, and is a member of the Veteran Boxer's Association, Ring # 9, Passaic-Bergen County. Elmer was a Letter Carrier for the US Postal Service in Clifton for many years, retiring in 1983, and was a Parishioner of St. John the Baptist Russian Orthodox Church, Passaic.

Beloved husband of the late Olga (Brinko) who died in 2009. Devoted father of Kathleen Cahayla and her husband Gregory Cahayla of Ringwood, and Karen Mary Semko and her husband Christen Davis Semko of Burlington Twsp.. Dear brother of Robert and his wife Connie of Davie, FL, and the late Emil, Edward and Albert. Loving grandfather of Kristin and Scott Cahayla, and Christen Lucas Semko and his wife Lindsey. The family wants to thank his caregiver Aco Avramoski for his love and devotion towards their father and grandfather.

Funeral Tuesday 10 AM at St. John the Baptist RO Church, 170 Lexington Ave., Passaic, kindly meet at church. Interment, East Ridgelawn Cemetery, Clifton. Visiting Monday 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton, with Panikhida at 8 PM.
