Eleanor E. (Zarucki) Shook, 87, of Clifton, passed away on January 23, 2017. Born in Mocanaqua, PA, she was a resident of Clifton for over 75 years.

A parishioner of St. John Kanty RC Church, Eleanor was Past President of the Rosary and Altar Society, was a member of the former Golden Circle, served as the first President of the SJK Home and School Association, and was a member of the Athenia Veterans Post, Ladies Auxiliary.

Eleanor enjoyed traveling with her husband, especially to Las Vegas, the Borgata in Atlantic City and Florida. For many years Eleanor Bowled with the Wednesday Night Women's League at Van Houten Lanes, and looked forward to playing with her Friday Night Card Club for over 35 years.

Eleanor and her late husband Joseph purchased the Durkos homestead on Van Houten Ave, Clifton, and in 1955 opened the Shook Funeral Home. In 1985 they purchased a funeral home in Cedar Grove, now Shook's Cedar Grove Funeral Home, and in 1986 acquired the Murray-Paradee Funeral Home in Cherry Hill.

Beloved wife for 62 years of the late Joseph M. Shook, Sr., who passed away in 2008. Devoted mother of Nancy Garretson and her husband Roy of Clifton, Wendy DiGerolamo of Cherry Hill, Joseph Shook, Jr., and his wife Carolyn of Essex Fells, the late Susan Mikolajczyk who died in 2011 and her husband Ronald "Mik" of Florida, and the late John H. Shook who died in 2000.

Loving grandmother of Amy Callow and her husband Stuart of Charlotte, NC, Kimberlee Francis and her husband Douglas of Athens, OH, Jennifer Moas and her husband Elan of Boca Raton, FL, Amanda Sardo and her husband Gary of Clifton, Thomas J. Garretson and his wife Annelise of Clifton, Rocco and Joseph DiGerolamo of Cherry Hill, and Joseph and Lauren Shook of NYC. Adored "GiGi" of Led and Jack Moas, Eleanor and George Callow, Sofia and Henry Sardo, and Susan Francis.

Funeral Thursday 9 AM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton, and 10 AM at St. John Kanty RC Church, Clifton. Interment, East Ridgelawn Cemetery, Clifton. Visiting Wednesday 4-8 PM at the funeral home.
