Eleanor C. (Corvo) Arangio, 82, of Clifton on March 26, 2010. Born in Garfield, Eleanor lived there before moving to Clifton in 1947.
An active parishioner of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel RC Church, Passaic, Eleanor was a member of the Parish Council, has served as a class representative, and later Recording Secretary for the Mt. Carmel Home and School Association, as well as Chairman and Co-chairman for the Annual Card Party, and on the Donations Committee for the Annual Church Picnic. She helped in the Mt. Carmel School System, wherever needed, with candy sales, library work and substitute teaching.
She was member and Past President of the Regina Mundi Coulmbiettes, Past President of the Clifton Library Board of Trustees, Member of UNICO National, Environmental Protection Agency, and member and Past President of the Delawanna Citizens Association.
Eleanor worked as a Medical Technician and Assistant to the late Dr. Francis Catanzaro of Passaic for many years.
Beloved wife of the late Charles who died in 1994. Devoted mother of Charlotte Lia and her husband Vincent of Morristown. Dear sister of Charlotte Sparling of Florida, and Rosalie Corvo of Morristown. Loving grandmother of Vincent, Patrick and Charles.
Funeral Monday 9 AM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton, and 10 AM at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel RC Church, Passaic. Interment, St. Nicholas Cemetery, Lodi. Visiting Sunday 3-6 PM. www.shookfh.com
