Edythe (Schabilon) Schmidt, 93, of Clifton passed away peacefully at her home on June 22, 2010. Born in Hackensack, Edythe lived in Clifton since 1946 and was a parishioner of St. Andrew the Apostle RC Church, Clifton.

Edythe and her late husband Frank "Smitty", who died in 2002, were the owners of Smitty's Gas Station at the corner of Van Houten and Clifton Avenues for 26 years, before retiring many years ago.

Loving mother of Edythe Csapo and her husband Frank, and Dorothy Breen and her husband Joe. Devoted and caring grandmother of Danielle Kaszner and her husband Tom, Lauren Molina and her husband Gene, Jacqueline, Kevin, and Justin Breen, and great granddaughter Katelyn.

Funeral Saturday 9:30 AM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton, and 10:30 AM at St. Andrew the Apostle RC Church. Cremation, East Ridgelawn Cemetery, Clifton. Visiting Friday 2-4 and 7-9 PM.
