Edward Charles Voss, 70 years old was called to eternal rest on June  28, 2024 at his home in Clifton, NJ.  Born December 30, 1953 in Jamaica, Long Island, NY, son of the late Charles A Voss and Tordis 'Kay' Voss. Ed was a most dedicated and compassionate personal care provider for both his parents. He cared for his Mother until she died in her 103rd year of life, eight months ago.

After obtaining his associates degree, Ed became a licensed carpenter with NJ Carpenters Union Local No.253. He was a gifted woodworker designing rustic furniture in his private business in Clifton. Ed also enjoyed leather tooling & designed leather vests he wore his entire life.  He was known for having an eye for detail. Ed's lifelong passion for music includes playing drums and guitar, attending many concerts over the years, and enjoying his varied LP vinyl collection.

He skillfully prepared nutritious meals, and grew organic vegetables and fruits in several garden locations. Ed was happy sharing his bounty with all. He was a caring friend to his neighbors and was thoughtful in lending a helping hand when he saw a need.

Ed's love for sports began in his youth attending his favorite team games, the NY Rangers and the NY Yankees, with his Dad at local arenas and stadiums. He enjoyed viewing sports games on TV with his Mom for decades.

Ed is survived by his brother Robert and sister Kathleen. He was a loving uncle to Kari, Kimberly and Adam. Ed also will be remembered by his great nieces Abigail, Amelia, Madeline and Camille along with nephew in law Dan.

Cremation under the direction of the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton. A celebration of life for Ed & Kay will be held privately with the Reformed Church of Shawangunk in Ulster County NY.  Burial is at the Brunswick Cemetery under the vistas of the church steeple and the Shawangunk Mountain Ridge.
