Edward J. Sokulski, Sr., 90, of Garfield passed away on June 21, 2011. Born in Clifton he lived there for 34 years before moving to Garfield. An Army Veteran of WW II, Edward was a member of Benda Roehrich VFW Post #2867, Garfield, and a parishioner of Most Holy Name RC Church, Garfield. Before retiring in 1985, Edward was Carpenter by trade, and has been a member of the Carpenter's Union Local # 15, Hackensack for 60 years. Beloved husband for 53 years of the late Isabel (Steel) who died in 2006. Devoted father of Elena Lee of Phoenix, AZ, Edward "Butch", Jr., and Lisa Ann Sokulski, both of Garfield. Loving grandfather of Stacy Cook, Scott Lee and Jessica Lee-Morrow. Cherished great grandfather of Cyann, Cedar, Sage, Zoey, Siena, Quinlan and Zane. Also survived by 2 sisters. Funeral Saturday 8:30 AM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton, and 9:30 AM at Most Holy Name RC Church, Garfield. Entombment, East Ridgelawn Cemetery, Clifton.
