Edward S. Plaskon, 85, of Clifton, passed away on August 22, 2022. Born in Passaic, he lived in Lodi before moving to Clifton in 1965.
A US Air Force Veteran, Ed proudly served his country during the Korean War, and was a parishioner of Ukrainian Orthodox Holy Ascension Cathedral, Clifton. Ed was in technical sales for much of his life working as a National Sales Manager for Zipper Tubing in Little Falls for 15 years and then Minigrip in Orangeburg, New York. Ed also worked in commercial and residential Real Estate for Cushman & Wakefield and Century 21 for many years.
Ed enjoyed being a coach for his sons with the Delawanna Little League, Clifton, and in 1978 was a founding member of the Clifton Ice Hockey Booster Club where he served as President for four years. Ed was active for many years in youth sports where he developed and influenced many young athletes on and off the ball fields and ice rinks.
Beloved husband for 57 years of the late Katherine (Lopinski) Plaskon, who passed away in 2018. Devoted father of Gregory Plaskon and his wife Geralyn of Clifton, and Ted Plaskon of Florida. Loving grandfather of Rachel, Nicholas and Alexis Plaskon. Dear brother of the late Dorothy Liptak, and Harold and Ronald Plaskon.
Visiting Friday 4-8 PM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton. Funeral Saturday 8:15 AM at the funeral home and 9:30 AM at Ukrainian Orthodox Holy Ascension Cathedral, Clifton. Interment, East Ridgelawn Cemetery, Clifton.
In lieu of flowers, donations made to the American Cancer Society, www.Cancer.org in memory of Ed, would be greatly appreciated.
