Edward J. Monks, 93, of Clifton, passed away on June 3, 2012. Born in Passaic, he lived in Wallington and Passaic before moving to Clifton in 1951. A parishioner of St. Paul's RC Church, Clifton, Ed was a member and past president of the Passaic County Grand Jurors Association. An Army Veteran of WW II, Ed served as a Mortar Gunner with Company "A", 86th Chemical Battalion and was a Purple Heart Recipient. Ed was a Manager in Shipping & Receiving for Becton Dickinson in Wood Ridge, where he worked for 45 years, retiring in 1984 and served as President of the Union for many years. Beloved husband for 63 years of the late Helen R. (Tulpan) who passed away in 2005. Devoted father of Edward of Oregon and Sandy Monks of Clifton. Dear brother of Jessie Puzio of Lodi. Loving grandfather of Anna Murphy. Funeral Thursday 10 AM at St. Paul's RC Church, 124 Union Ave., Clifton. Kindly meet at the church. Interment, East Ridgelawn Cemetery, Clifton.
