Edward John MacDonald, 62, a lifetime resident of Passaic, passed away at St. Joseph's Hospital, Paterson, on June 5, 2016, after a long illness.

The son of Walter and Loretta (Hudson) MacDonald, Eddie graduated from Passaic High School in 1972 and forfeited his acceptance at Trenton State College to pursue his love of industrial arts. A perfectionist, Eddie worked in the printing industry for many years, until he became disabled.

Even when his health failed, Eddie sought ways to be of help to others, displaying his generous spirit with all who knew him. Though Eddie never had children of his own, he adopted Operation Smile as his favorite charity, which provides free medical help for children born with a cleft palate.

Beloved son of the late Walter and Loretta MacDonald. Cherished brother of Maureen Durham and her husband Rev. Lawrence Ronald of Deltona, FL, and the late Walter L. MacDonald. Dear brother-in-law of Pam MacDonald of Hanover, MN. Cherished uncle of Natasha Durham, Jocelyn Uzzell and her husband Terrence and Colleen Durham, all of Florida, and Erin, Meagan and Wade MacDonald, all of Minnesota. Loving nephew of Phyllis Hudson and her late husband Charles and June Sollers and her late husband John. Eddie will be dearly missed by a host of cousins, grand nieces and nephews, and many close friends, to whom the family is deeply indebted for the care they provided to Eddie during his most difficult years.
