Donald Ralph Reenstra, Ret. Passaic Co. Superior Court Judge, age 75 of Tarpon Springs, FL, passed away from complications related to pneumonia on Monday, July 27, 2015. Donald was a long time resident of Hawthorne, NJ. He graduated from Hawthorne High School and continued on to receive his Juris Doctorate from Rutgers University School of Law. Following his time in the Air Force, Donald returned to Hawthorne, started a private law practice and became entrenched in the community holding Borough positions as Prosecutor and then Municipal Court Judge. In 1993 Donald was appointed to the position of Superior Court Judge in Passaic County. He held this position for 10 years, retiring in 2003. Judge Reenstra traded in his suit and tie for a swimsuit and moved to Tarpon Springs, FL. Donald put a strong emphasis on the value of education and learning towards one's personal development. This was much evidenced in his attainment of Masters Degrees in the fields of Music and History later in life. Donald was a constant source of encouragement, strength and moral support for his daughters. Those fortunate to have known him can attest to the fact that he was bursting with love and pride when he spoke of his daughters and their accomplishments. Donald Reenstra is survived by his loving Daughters Bonnie Reenstra of Tarpon Springs, FL, and Suzanne Reenstra of Nazareth, PA. Grandfather (Pop Pop) to Emily of Nazareth, PA. Donald also leaves behind his beloved companion Dorothy Delamere of Tarpon Springs, FL. A private service will be held in Tarpon Springs, FL.
