Dolores Jean
D'Amore
November 2, 2022
Dolores Jean D'Amore
6/10/1939 – 11/02/2022
Dolores passed away peacefully on Wednesday November 2, 2022 in the ICU at Overlook Hospital surrounded by her loving children and grandchildren after a long hard fought 10 month battle with cancer.
Dolores was born and raised in Newark, N.J. where she went on to live and raise her three children. She dedicated 24.5 years to the Newark Board of Education as a cook for the Newark Public Schools before retiring in 2005. Dolores was also a cook for IKEA before retiring to spend more time with her family.
Dolores was everyone's best friend. She accepted everyone for who they were. Her heart was forgiving and her love was unconditional, selfless and honest. She was a great secret keeper, great travel buddy and even better friend. Anyone who knew Dolores knew that there was nothing she loved more than her family! Any chance she got, she was always pulling out her phone to show you pictures or videos of one of her grandkids or great
grandkids and that's all it took to bring a smile to her face. No matter what she was going through she was always worried about everyone else. Up until her last breath, she had to hear from everyone individually that we would be "okay", and take care of each other.
Dolores was predeceased by her beloved mother Stasia Cordeiro, her husband Ronald D'Amore, her grandson Nicholas Pietropaolo, her siblings Gerald Cordeiro, Carol Turco and just two short weeks ago Alvin Cordeiro.
Dolores is survived by her 3 children Lisa DeSa (Jack), Patrick D'Amore and Natale D'Amore-Sauvage (Damien) 6 grandchildren Nicole Fisher (Chris), Jacqalyn DeSa (Kevin Fisher), Christopher D'Amore (Cynthia Tavarez), Ashley D'Amore, Elijah Lee (Valentina) and Catalina Lee, 12 great-grandchildren Alyssa, Dominick & Giovanni Pietropaolo, Jeremy & Mikaila Cruz, Caden Fisher, Maylanie, Zoey, Adriana & Amiya D'Amore, Nash Fisher and King Lee. Dolores also has 2 sisters Jinx Taggart and Judy Balaguer along with many nieces, nephews, close friends and extended family, because once you knew Dolores EVERYONE became family.
Dolores battled and survived Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma in 2011. She was CANCER FREE for 10 years before being diagnosed this year in January with Large Cell B Diffuse Lymphoma. She fought extremely hard going through very aggressive rounds of chemo, but this time the cancer was just too aggressive.
The family has created a memorial page if anyone would like to make a donation to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in Memory of Dolores, the link is below:

To honor Dolores' wishes there will be no services.
