Dennis Maryn, 58, of Clifton passed away on September 21, 2020. Born in Passaic on June 25, 1962 with cerebral palsy, Dennis worked hard to overcome his physical challenges. Not to be defined by his disability, he exemplified hard work and determination, as illustrated by his over 36 years of work for Gold Cleaners in Passaic and Stop & Shop in Clifton.
Dennis was smart, quick-witted, and unassuming, and he brought laughter everywhere he went. He impressed everyone he met with his fortitude, sense of humor, and humility. It was easy for him to make friends, and he was beloved in the community. An avid music lover and sports fan, Dennis was loyal to his Giants, Yankees, and Rangers, and also cheered on Seton Hall basketball; he loved attending events with his friends. Never one to seek sympathy, Dennis taught us all to live our best lives with what we have--and to try to make people smile along the way.
Dennis is survived by four brothers, John, Mike, Steve, and Frank, and many extended family members and friends. Dennis, you are loved and missed.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Shook Funeral Home, Clifton.
Dennis will be laid to rest at East Ridgelawn Cemetery, 255 Main Ave., Clifton, Friday, June 25, 2021, 11AM, alongside his beloved mother, Olga, who raised five boys alone. In lieu of flowers, donations made in Dennis's memory to the Cerebral Palsy Foundation,
